EDGRADELASTYR is the grade of education attended by the household member in the previous school year.

Comparability

The source data for some surveys report total years of schooling and some report years within levels. Where possible, EDGRADELASTYR converts the original composite codes of surveys that report both level and grade within a level in the coding scheme. Surveys that report the only number of years of total schooling or total number of years that cross multiple levels are indicated below. Higher codes for EDGRADE record categorical responses.
