Description
CLFAMBUSINESS reports if the child worked or helped in a family business or a relative's business with or without pay or ran (his/her) own business. The time reference specifies that the child worked at least one hour in the last week.
Comparability
This variable is comparable across samples. Note that CLFAMBUSINESS is available for Round 5 and Round 6 samples only. In prior rounds of the MICS surveys, the child's involvement in tasks such as farming, selling goods, and/or doing business were captured in a single response, rather than separately for each activity. See CLFAMWORK and CLNONFAM.
