Description
CLCHORECOOKCLEAN indicates whether the child cleaned or cooked for the household in the past week.
Comparability
This variable is comparable across samples and is available for Round 5.
In rounds 2, 3, and 4, the survey inquired whether the child performed any household chores overall, without separately recording participation in cooking and cleaning. See CLCHORES in the "Household Members" unit of analysis. Conversely, Round 6 distinguished between cooking and cleaning in CLCHORECOOK and CLCHORECLEAN in the "Children 5-17" unit of analysis.
