In the Central African Republic 2006 sample, this variable refers to the person who physically abused the respondent the most in the last 12 months. If the woman reported more than one person who abused her in the last 12 months, she is to consider the individual person who abused her the most for this question. This variable specifically excludes instances of violence perpetrated by the respondent's current or last husband or partner for married or partnered women.
