Description

GEO1_TT identifies the household's regional health authority of residence within Trinidad and Tobago in the 2006 and 2011 MICS surveys.

The regional health authorities in Trinidad and Tobago do not correspond to any level of administrative geography. The regional health authorities are composed of regions, boroughs, cities, and wards, which are the primary administrative divisions in Trinidad and Tobago. The regional health authorities and their corresponding regions, boroughs, cities, and wards are listed below:

  • North West: Diego Martin, City of Port of Spain, San Juan-Laventille
  • East: Sangre Grande, Rio Claro / Mayaro
  • Central: Tunapuna-Piarco, Arima, Chaguanas
  • South West: Couva-Tabaquite-Talparo, Princess Town, San Fernando, Penal-Debe, Siparia, Point Fontin
  • Tobago: St. Andrew, St. Patrick, St. John, St. Mary, St. Paul, St. George, St. David

The first three digits of GEO1_TT provide the country code; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code.

Comparability

The regional health authorities in the 2006 and 2011 samples have identical spatial footprints; there are no comparability issues.
