Description

IMICSCLUSTER is an identifying number unique to the clusters in a given sample. This variable is a concatenation of SAMPLE (which uniquely identifies each country- and year-specific sample) and CLUSTER.

This variable should be used when pooling samples.

Comparability

This variable is added to the database during processing by IPUMS MICS and has no comparability issues.
