Description
PNCMOTHSKILL reports whether a skilled health worker not recorded elsewhere (in PNCMDOC, PNCMNURSEM, or PNCMAUXMW) checked the woman's health after her most recent delivery.

Comparability
Whether a response category is considered skilled is based on the specific country's interpretation that survey year, based on the groupings on the questionnaire. For some samples, more than one response category is incorporated into PNCMOTHSKILL.
For all samples, the most recent birth must have occurred within the last two years.

In the Argentina 2019 sample, PNCMOTHSKILL includes obstetrician/professional midwife and public sector health agent. The two categories were separately recorded on the survey, but have been combined in IPUMS MICS data.

In the Bangladesh 2019 sample, PNCMOTHSKILL includes paramedic and medical assistants, sub-assistant community medical officers, family welfare visitors, and community skilled birth attendants. The three categories were captured separately in the survey, but have been combined in IPUMS MICS data.
