Description

WANTEDCHWHEN reports whether a woman who did not want to get pregnant with her last birth (i.e. women who say "no" to WANTEDCH) want children at a later time or does not want more children at all. Only women who gave birth within the last two years were eligible to answer the screening question.

In the Mexico 2015 sample, there are two variables that establish whether the pregnancy was desired. DB1 is harmonized in WANTEDCH and asks a comparable question about whether women wanted to become pregnant. DB1A is a question specific to Mexico and it asks specifically about whether the woman was actively trying to become pregnant.
