Description
DISCMOMCHECK reports if the mother or primary caretaker responding to the questionnaire on children 5-17 years old is also the mother or primary caretaker of a child age 0-4 included in the child questionnaire.
This variable is used to identify mothers who have already answered the question about physical punishment (DISCNEED) in the child discipline module and therefore are excluded from answering the question again (see DISCNEEDCHECK).
