Description
CLNONFAMHRS records the number of hours the child worked for someone who was not a member of the household during the past week.
Comparability
Despite the age variation, this variable is comparable across samples. See related variable, CLFAMWORKHRS, which records number of hours the child spent working for the family. Note that CLFAMWORKHRS and CLNONFAMHRS are only available for rounds 2, 3, and 4. See
CLWORKHOURS in the "Household Characteristics" (Round 5) and the "Children 5-17" (Round 6) units of analysis, for total hours worked for income (no separation of family or non-family work).
