Description

CLWOOD indicates whether the child collected firewood for household use in the last week.

Comparability

This variable is comparable across samples. Note that CLWOOD is only available for Round 6. In rounds 4 and 5, the number of hours spent on fetching water and/or collecting firewood were recorded together in one response. See CLWATERWOOD in the "Household Members" unit of analysis for Round 4, and in the "Household Characteristics" unit of analysis for Round 5. In rounds 2 and 3, fetching water and collecting firewood were recorded along with other household chores, rather than separately; see CLCHORES) in the "Household Members" unit of analysis.
