Description

LASTSEXPARTNERAGE indicates the age (in years) of the partner with whom the respondent had their last sexual intercourse. The question is asked only to respondents who reported having intercourse within the last year.

This variable includes information for both women and men.

Comparability

Typically, the universe for this variable does not include respondents who reported that their last sexual partner was their spouse or live-in girlfriend or boyfriend (as reported in LASTSEXPARTNERRELATE).

There are universe differences with respect to age. MICS Round 3 women samples addressed the survey question only to women age 15-24. A small number of samples restrict the universe of respondents based on marital or cohabitation status, fertility history, or sexual experience.

Comparability — Cameroon [top]

The Cameroon 2006 women sample asked the question only of ever-married women.

Comparability — Mongolia [top]

The Mongolia 2010 and 2012 (Khuvsgul Aimag) women samples asked the question only of ever-married women who had given birth.
