Description

WEIGHTFS reports the sample weight of the child aged 5 to 17. In each household with 5-17 year old children, one child was randomly selected from that age group. The final weight of each child takes into account the household weight, as well as the number of 5-17 year old children in the household.

Comparability

In each sampled household, one child was randomly selected from all the children in this age group recorded in the list of household members. The household weight (WEIGHTHH) for the children age 5-17 years is first adjusted based on the response rate for this questionnaire based on the sample design. Once this adjusted household weight is normalized, it is multiplied by the number of children age 5-17 years recorded in the list of household members. Therefore, the weights for the individual children age 5-17 years will vary by sample household.
