Description
If the respondent has been absent from employment in the last week, this variable indicates if the respondent plans to return to same job or business in 3 months or less.
Comparability
This question was asked of individuals who:
are not currently in school,
who did not report unpaid work activities - such as apprenticeships or internships - in the last 4 weeks(UNPAIDMO),
who did not report any training activities in the last 4 weeks(TRAINMO),
who did not report working for pay in the last week (WORKPAID),
who did not report doing work for their own business in the last week (WORKBUS),
who did not report doing work for a family business in the last week (WORKFAMBUS),
who did not report unpaid work activities - such as apprenticeships or internships - in the last 4 weeks(UNPAIDMO),
who did not report any training activities in the last 4 weeks(TRAINMO),
who did not report working for pay in the last week (WORKPAID),
who did not report doing work for their own business in the last week (WORKBUS),
who did not report doing work for a family business in the last week (WORKFAMBUS),
And who had a paid job or business but were absent from it during the last week (WORKABS) and were not absent because of:
shift work (ABSSHIFT),
vacation (ABSVACATION),
illness (ABSSICK),
parental leave (ABSMAT),
or waiting to start a new job (ABSNEWJOB).

And for respondents whose reason for absence in the last week is not due to seasonal or off-season nature of the job (ABSSEASON).
This variable is available for women and men starting in MICS Round 7.
