Description

For respondents who reported working in farming and/or fishing in the last week (WORKSALE) but do not know if the products were sold or for family use , this variable indicates if the products the respondent worked on or produced from work generally are intended only for sale, mainly for sale, mainly for family use, or only for family use.

Comparability

This question was asked of individuals who:

are not currently in school,
who did not report unpaid work activities - such as apprenticeships or internships - in the last 4 weeks(UNPAIDMO),
who did not report any training activities in the last 4 weeks(TRAINMO),
and who did not report working for pay in the last week.
(WORKPAID).
Who did not work for their own business in the last week (WORKBUS),
Who did not report doing work for a family business in the last week (WORKFAMBUS),
report had no job in the last week (WORKABS) or were waiting to start a new job (ABSNEWJOB),
didn't work for an off-season job (WORKSEASON),and/or didn't receive income from an off-season job (ABSINCOME) .


This variable is available for women and men starting in MICS Round 7.

Universe

  • Kazakhstan 2024: Women age 15-24 who report farming or fishing but do not know if the products are used by family or sold
