Description

GEO1_BB identifies the household's parish group of residence within Barbados in the 2012 MICS survey. Parishes are the primary level of geography in Barbados.

The eleven parishes in Barbados were grouped into four strata:

• Stratum 1: St. Michael
• Stratum 2: Christ Church and St. Philip
• Stratum 3: St. George, St. James, and St. Thomas
• Stratum 4: St. Lucy, St. Peter, St. Andrew, St. Joseph and St. John

The first three digits of GEO1_BB provide the country code; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code.
