Description

GEO1_CR identifies the household's province of residence within Costa Rica in the 2011 and 2018 MICS surveys. Provinces are the primary level of geography in Costa Rica.

The first three digits of GEO1_CR provide the country code; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code.

Comparability

The provinces in the 2011 and 2018 samples have identical spatial footprints; there are no comparability issues.
