Description
GEO1_SV identifies the household's region of residence within El Salvador in the 2014 MICS survey.
In the 2014 El Salvador MICS survey, departments were aggregated into regions. Parts of San Salvador and La Libertad departments were included in the Central as well as the Metropolitana regions. Below is a list the departments within each region.
- Occidente: Santa Ana, Sonsonate, Ahuachapán
- Central: Chalatenango, Cuscatlán, San Salvador (part), La Libertad (part)
- Metropolitana: San Salvador (part), La Libertad (part)
- Para Central: La Paz, Cabañas, San Vicente
- Oriental: Usulután, San Muigel, Morazán, La Unión
The first three digits of GEO1_SV provide the country code; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code.
