Description

GEO2_SO2011 identifies the household's administrative region of residence within Somalia in the 2011 MICS survey. Administrative regions are the primary level of geography in Somalia.

The first three digits of GEO2_SO2011 provide the ISO the country code; the second three digits provides the higher-level units within which the second level units exist, and the last three digits specify the second level geographic unit within Somalia. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country has less than three-digit geographical code. Other geography variables for Somalia include GEO1_SO.

Comparability

GEO2_SO2011 is only available for the 2011 MICS survey, which includes the areas of Northwest/Somaliland and Northeast/Puntland. The data for 2011 Somalia are contained in two separate survey samples corresponding to the two sampled zones.
