Description

GEO1_BY identifies the household's Oblast of residence within Belarus in the 2005 to 2019 MICS surveys.

The first three digits of GEO1_BY provide the country code; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code.

Comparability

The Oblasts in the 2005-2019 samples have identical spatial footprints; there are no comparability issues.
