Codes and Frequencies
Description
GEO1_ PK_SD18 identifies the household's division of residence within the Sindh province of Pakistan in the 2018 MICS survey. Divisions are the secondary level of geography in Pakistan, after provinces.
The first three digits of GEO1_ PK_SD18 provide the country code; the next (fourth) digit specifies the province codes for Sindh; the last two digits specifies the division within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a two-digit code. Other geography variables for Pakistan includes spatiotemporally harmonized GEO1_PK and GEO2_PK, and sample specific geography for Sindh in GEO1_PK_SD14,and GEO2_PK_SD14_18.
A GIS map (in shapefile format) corresponding to GEO1_PK_SD18 is available on the GIS Boundary files page. The full set of geography variables for all MICS samples and countries can be found at IPUMS MICS Geography.
