Description
This variable indicates if the respondent continues to receive an income from the job or business during this absence from a job that is not in low or off-season.
Comparability
This question was asked of individuals who:
who did not report unpaid work activities - such as apprenticeships or internships - in the last 4 weeks(UNPAIDMO),
who did not report any training activities in the last 4 weeks(TRAINMO),
who did not report working for pay in the last week (WORKPAID),
who did not report doing work for their own business in the last week (WORKBUS),
who did not report doing work for a family business in the last week (WORKFAMBUS),
And who had a paid job or business but were absent from it during the last week (WORKABS) and were not absent because of:
vacation (ABSVACATION),
illness (ABSSICK),
parental leave (ABSMAT),
or waiting to start a new job (ABSNEWJOB).
And for respondents whose reason for absence in the last week is not due to seasonal or off-season nature of the job (ABSSEASON) and they do not intend to return to the same job or business in 3 months or less (WORKRETURN).
This variable is available for women and men starting in MICS Round 7.

- Kazakhstan 2024: Women age 15-24 have a job, though did not work in the last week and will not return in 3 months
