Description
GEO1_BT identifies the household's region (groups of districts) of residence within Bhutan in the 2010 MICS survey.
Although the regions in Bhutan do not correspond to any level of administrative geography, the administrative regions (Western, Eastern, and Central), for the purposes of the 2010 MICS survey, were comprised of the following dzongkhag or districts:
- Western: Chhukha, Gasa, Haa, Paro, Punakha, Samtse and Thimphu Dzong khag
- Eastern: Lhuentse, Monggar, Pemagatshel, Samdrup-Jongkhar, Trashigang and Trashiyangtse Dzongkhag
- Central: Bumthang, Dagana, Sarpang, Trongsa, Tsirang, Wangdue Phodrang and Zhemgang Dzongkhag
The first three digits of GEO1_BT provide the country code; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code.
