Codes and Frequencies
Description
GEO2_BT identifies the household's dzongkhag or district of residence within Bhutan in the 2010 MICS survey.
The first three digits of GEO2_BT provide the country code; the next three digits specify the region; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code. Other geography variables for Bhutan include GEO1_BT, which provides region of residence.
A GIS map (in shapefile format) corresponding to GEO2_BT is available on the GIS Boundary files page. The full set of geography variables for all MICS samples and countries can be found at IPUMS MICS Geography.
