Description

GEO1_NP2024 identifies the household's rural or urban province of residence within Nepal in the 2024 MICS survey. Provinces are the primary level of geography in Nepal in 2024. Each province is further subdivided into rural or urban province, making 14 subdivisions in total.

The first three digits of GEO1_NP2024 provide the country code; the fifth digit specify the rural (2) or urban (1) nature of the province and the sixth-digit is the province code that matches GEO1ALT_NP variable. Other geography variables for Nepal include the spatiotemporally harmonized GEO1_NP that applies to the 2010 and 2014 surveys and the GEO1ALT_NP that applies to the 2019 and 2024 surveys. The sample-specific GEO1_NP2010 applies to the 2010 survey, and the sample-specific GEO1_NP2010 that applies to the 2014 survey.
