Description

GEO1_ST2019 identifies the household's region of residence within São Tomé and Príncipe in the 2019 MICS survey. Regions in São Tomé and Príncipe are groups of districts. Districts are the primary level of geography in São Tomé and Príncipe.

The first three digits of GEO1_ST2019 provide the country code; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code. Other geography variables for São Tomé and Príncipe include the spatiotemporally harmonized GEO1_ST that applies to all São Tomé and Príncipe samples, and the sample-specific GEO1_ST2014, that applies to the 2014 survey.
