Description

GEO1_ TD2019 identifies the household's province of residence within Chad in the 2019 MICS survey. Provinces are the primary level of geography in Chad.

The first three digits of GEO1_ TD2019 provide the country code; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code. Other geography variables for Democratic Republic of Congo includes spatiotemporally harmonized GEO1_TD and sample specific geography from GEO1_TD2010.

Comparability

In the 2019 sample, the provinces of Borkou and Tibesti were grouped into one region while Ennedi Est and Ennedi Ouest regions were surveyed separately.
