Description

GEO3_PK_PJ identifies the household's tehsil of residence within the Punjab province of Pakistan in the 2011 MICS survey. Tehsils are the fourth level of geography in Pakistan, after provinces, divisions, and districts.

The first six digits of GEO3_PK_PJ provide the codes for GEO2_PK without the ISO country code; the last three digits specifies the tehesil code within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code. Other geography variables for Pakistan includes spatiotemporally harmonized GEO1_PK and GEO2_PK.

A GIS map (in shapefile format) corresponding to GEO3_PK_PJ is available on the GIS Boundary files page. The full set of geography variables for all MICS samples and countries can be found at IPUMS MICS Geography.
