Description

GEO1ALT_NP identifies the household's province of residence within Nepal in the 2019 to 2024 MICS surveys. Provinces are the primary level of geography in Nepal.

The first three digits of GEO1ALT_NP provide the country code; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code. Other geography variables for Nepal include the spatiotemporally harmonized GEO1_NP that applies to the 2010 and 2014 Nepal samples, the sample-specific GEO1_NP2010 that applies to the 2010 survey, and the sample-specific GEO1_NP2014 that applies to the 2014 survey.
