Description
GEO1_ CF2018 identifies the household's region of residence within the Central African Republic in the 2018 MICS survey. Regions in Central African Republic are groups of prefectures. Prefectures are the primary level of geography in Central African Republic.
The first three digits of GEO1_ CF2018 provide the country code; the last three digits specify the geographic unit within the country. Leading zeros are used when the geographical unit within the country requires less than a three-digit code. Other geography variables for Central African Republic include the spatiotemporally harmonized GEO1_CF, and sample- specific geography for 2006 and 2010 in GEO1_CF2006 and GEO1_CF2010.

Comparability
For 2018: 17 prefectures were grouped into seven regions:
- Region 1: Ombella-Mpoko, Lobaye
- Region 2: Mambéré-Kadéï, Sangha-Mbaéré, Nana-Mambéré
- Region 3: Ouham, Ouham-Péndé
- Region 4: Kémo, Nana-Grébizi, Ouaka
- Region 5: Bamingui-Bangoran, Haute-Kotto, Vakaga
- Region 6: Basse-Kotto, Mbomou, Haut-Mbomou
- Region 7: Bangui
In the 2018 survey, Vakaga prefecture was sampled lightly due to conflict.
